There are multiple instances of the game running with some delay between them. Since there is delay, a shot on one instance may be a hit while the other is a miss.
What happens on your screen when one game says it's a hit and the other says it's a miss? Weird shit, that's what.
If you hit them but they took no damage then you didn't really hit them on the server. It might even animate like they got hit since animations are client side.
They might hit you around a corner. On the server, you might not be around the corner yet.
Point is if you think it's hax it's most likely lag.

Sadly yes. We are pushing the engine to its limits in some cases. Not to mention network isn't always constant, even when you have low pings.
I just want to know how some get triple rocket lock on so fast (< 1s).
In some ways its like real life, sometimes shit works as expected other times well not so much.
